SCUBA Diving Instruction

Our mission is to create safe and comfortable divers. To do this, G+S Watersports offers high quality SCUBA instruction for small groups led by experienced PADI, NAUI, SSI and I.A.N.T.D. instructors. We specialize in making your first dive experience exciting and fun while being safe and comfortable. We will help you develop the skill and confidence you need to safely enjoy the challenging and exciting sport of diving.

G+S Watersports can customize your dive sessions to suit your busy lifestyle by including home study options and individual scheduling.

PADI is the largest SCUBA certification agency in the world. All of our instruction is conducted in accordance with PADI's strict standards.

Dive instruction is available for all levels of dive experience, from non-diver to expert.

The PADI Discover SCUBA Diving Program, allows a non-diver to safely experience the same sense of wonder and excitement shared every day by SCUBA divers throughout the world. Under the careful supervision of a G+S Instructor, participants actually go on a dive in shallow, calm water. This allows you to experience SCUBA diving without committing to an entire course.

The 3 to 4 hour experience includes:

Short Knowledge/Water Skills session
Shallow SCUBA dive in open water
Lets you experience SCUBA diving without committing to an entire course.
All gear, instruction and one dive is included in the price

If you decide to continue with your instruction within the year, you will receive a credit for the Open Water Dive & Water Skills sessions you have completed.

Open Water Diver Certification

By availing yourself of our course you will earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification. Once certified you can dive up to 60 feet with a buddy, buy or rent SCUBA equipment and dive without instructor supervision.

This course will include:

4 SCUBA dives in open water in Tobermory (including 2 SCUBA dives from a boat)
5 Skill Development sessions in confined open water (pool-like conditions)
5 Knowledge Development sessions
Open Water Diver Manual & dive tables, student video, instruction, certification card, certificate & log book
All your rental SCUBA gear: exposure suit, SCUBA tank, buoyancy vest & regulator)& weight belt for all your certification dives.

SCUBA is all about you, as the diver, being comfortable and safe. We all know you need equipment to breathe underwater, but experienced divers know that means having your own equipment. So you may want to purchase your own personal gear, whether it is just the mask, snorkel and fins or the full equipment. The G+S Watersports professional staff is more than happy to help you make the right selection for you.

Advanced Open Water Diver Certification

Develop skills in night diving, deep water diving, underwater navigation and two other specialties you and your instructor choose.

The course includes:

5 Specialty Dives with emphasis on learning during actual open water dives.
Each dive credited toward corresponding Specialty Diver program.

The cost for Advanced Open Water Certification is $325.00/person (also see Notes).

Ice Diving

You have never been to Tobermory in the winter? Well that's the only time to do some ice diving and G+S is here all year to teach you how! Try this new adventure in one of your favourite places! See the wrecks you dive in the summer in a whole new way!

Two (2) People	$250.00 ea
Four (4) People	$200.00 ea
Six (6) People	$175.00 ea

All Equipment is included. However, we recommend you have a pony bottle or air redundancy.

Prerequisite: Must be an Advanced Open Water Certified diver or equivalent.

This course includes in-class teaching as well as three (3) dives. It is done over two (2) days. When the ice is in the Bay, this course is offered on an ongoing basis and we will be happy to fit to you schedule.
